What are the ideal photography portrait session clients like? Trey, Julee, and baby Joy Guinn. Happy, filled with love, hopeful, excited, funny, kind, generous, appreciative, amazing parents, welcoming, easy going and laid back, and they had an idea what they wanted to achieve during the session (sometimes had a particular pose in mind, which I always welcome!), yet they were open to new idea and possibilities at the same time by just “going with the flow” knowing sometimes you can expect to only accomplish so much with a baby running the show! ;-) The list of adjectives could seriously go on and on forever. If you fit this description, call me! I’d love to be your photographer, too!  I’m lucky enough to have met the Tufts family through them as well… They definitely also fit that description!

I normally just post a few sneak peek pictures on my photography Facebook page after a client session (even though I know I should also throw some on my blog as well!), but this family is so amazing, and I had SO much fun shooting and editing their session, that I thought they deserved an entire blog post dedicated to them.

I met Trey when I started my Ph.D. in Communication Studies at UT Austin (and have since then left to be photographer- and mama-Lea!), and he always had such a fun spirit about him. Always smiling, always engaging. So of course he is married to a beautiful woman with the exact same fun-loving personality, and they couldn’t possibly be more perfect for each other. Or at least until baby Joy came along! She definitely completes the trio. :)

I did maternity pictures for Trey and Julee back in May, and you could tell they were giddy as can be to become parents (see below).

Fast forward 6 1/2 months or so… I had the pleasure of taking the Guinn’s family photos on the UT Austin campus last weekend! We unknowingly picked to do a shoot there on COMMENCEMENT day (oops!), but that didn’t stop us!  The weather was gorgeous, spirits were high, laughs were plentiful… we had a blast. :) And Joy is just SO darn cute! All smiles for that little one! With awesome parents like Trey and Julee, I’m sure she can hardly help herself! :)

It was nearly impossible to pick just a few favorites from the session, so here are SEVERAL (…and I know some will think this is WAY too many to post on a blog as it is, but there are still even MORE I want to show you! Maybe in a later post…)!  Candid shots are my FAVORITE (beware: lots of kisses shown below!), so that’s mostly what I chose to show below (but I promise there is a good mixture of candid and “posed” shots in your final set, Trey & Julee!). Love you three… thanks for the fun times.
